Yeah, what a cool kid! I have the prog and love it! The dad sounds really humble as well!

Yeah, I noticed that too about his father...very humble...must be the Malaysian blood hehe. Oops, I'm asking for trouble here :)

Hehe, Malaysian or not, he's a bit scared by the publicity. "Anyone also can programme." We obviously haven't met!

Lilian said...

Haha, he hasn't met me either, a terrified technophobe who accords techno-savvy folks almost God-like status :P

S: Yeah, the word that comes to everyone's mind seems to be 'cool' :) Especially since the kid and his dad both come across really down-to-earth and ...cool.

Thanks to all who has such kind words to Ding Wen and me.

Ding Wen is really just a normal boy with an interest in programming. He is writing demos and games, not trying to learn or study something. Once you got the right tool, attitude and interest, everybody can do it.

So good to have you drop by here Mr Lim. We can't help being impressed. Your comment here shows again just how down-to-earth and well-adjusted Ding Wen's upbringing is. No way is he "just a normal boy" but it's good to know that you are treating him like he is :)

I'm sure Ding Wen will continue to thrive growing up in such an environment. We look forward to hearing more about him in the future. Tell him all the mummies here think he's so cool and cute :) And congratulations to you and your wife too!

Thanks! There is a story about how he learned programming here.

Don't need to be a genius, just the right attitude and interest will do.

Thanks for the link. Maybe don't need to be genius, but need to be/have gene-ius :). Your boy obviously inherited his techsavvy from you. Next time I'm back in Singapore, I send my boys to you okay?

My boy happens to be Ding Wen's junior in Lianhua Primary. I showed him Ding Wen's picture in newspaper without reading the news, this is what he said "I've seen him before, he is nice. I think he is in Infocom club". Mr Lim, you son is well-liked even without this fame.
