After a good night's sleep, we woke up to another bright sunny day. First stop, Tokyo Tower, which is modelled after Paris' Eiffel Tower. At 333m, it is taller than Eiffel Tower's 320m, and is the tallest self-supporting steel structure in the world.
The nearest metro stop is Akabanebashi Station on the Oedo line. Fans of anime and Godzilla films will find Tokyo Tower a familiar sight.
It's not quite as majestic and awe-inspiring as Eiffel Tower, well, that's my opinion anyway. You can't walk under the tower as there is a building built right under it. The 4-storey building known as Foot Town houses an aquarium, several museums, restaurants and shops.
Eddie and I shared a bowl ramen (didn't want to spoil our appetite for lunch) in Foot Town while Sean and Brian were happy with their McD breakfast.
Next stop: Asakusa
