DSLR pics: My house downstairs...

You know?

My house downstairs as in "My house downstairs the charkueyteow dam nice." or "My house downstairs got NTUC and bus interchange, very convenient."

Well, presenting...My house downstairs...in pictures :)

View of the apartment blocks from the pedestrian embankment.

Pedestrian walkway in the direction of children's playground.

The Rotunda/Pavillion that nobody uses.

The Poser poses in front of yachts.

Yachts docked at the yacht club. Wonder what happens when the river freezes in winter.

My house downstairs got functioning lighthouse.

The lighthouse has gargoyle-like dragons holding up lamps. In-your-face over the top? That's Russia for you, land of the oligarchs; subtlety is not in their vocabulary yet I guess.

Yup, when we walk around 'my house downstairs', we forget we're in Moscow. Most of Moscow isn't like that though, be warned.

Also, 'my house downstairs' somewhat compensates for the monstrosity that is the decor in 'my house inside', haha, think green walls with paintings of vines creeping up trees, that's the wall I face when watching tv. I viewed the place on Day 1, said omigod no way, but a couple of weeks and 25 viewings later, with 5 of our offers rejected, suddenly the apartment didn't seem that bad. Bad, but not THAAAAT bad! Beggars...choosers y'know.

Gargoyle's mouth is big cos he's gonna eat Aunty PP.

Property's all about the location honey, and this place is all location. I can't say I love the building (very HK style, but that's just me), but the promenade! And the lighthouse and street lamps! Very baroque!

So Moscow's a tough city huh? Sounds very romantic to me actually, but I guess I don't have to deal with the traffic.

Location's not really great, cos we're somewhere in the boondocks, but it's near school, that was important. The property facing the part of Moscow River that's in the city, that I agree is location. Crazy rents though.

Don't remind me about the traffic, as if I'm not enough of a hermit, this city is turning me into Howard Hughes (without the fortune).

Nice pictures. I don't remember seeing any swanky developments like this when I was in Moscow.

I think the only way to get to know your camera is to just keep clicking away. I'm still learning about mine.

Most of these new developments are off the city centre so you're unlikely to see them unless you venture further away.

Yep, I'm clicking away without quite knowing what I'm doing, then if I get lucky, there're some nice shots out of the hundreds I snap. Beauty of digital photography.
